Police are looking for attackers who stabbed a teenager in the leg in a rush hour incident in a Leeds suburb.

The 18-year-old was on Miles Hill Street, Miles Hill, Meanwood, when he was involved in an incident with a number of other males shortly before 5pm on Wednesday.

It is thought he felt a blow to his leg as he was walking away, but managed to walk into Drakes fish and chip shop, at the junction of Scott Hall Road and Potternewton Lane.

It was only when he got to the shop that he realised he had been stabbed twice.

Staff raised the alarm and emergency services were called. There was a large police presence at the scene into Wednesday evening.

The teenager was taken to hospital for treatment to an injury that was said to be serious but not life-threatening.

Police have appealed for witnesses to come forward.

Anyone with information should call Leeds district CID via 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
