Thugs rammed a man’s car in a “frightening” robbery attempt in Leeds.

The 59-year-old victim was driving out of the industrial estate off Bruntcliffe Lane, Morley, at around 2.55pm on Sunday when a white Peugeot Bipper van pulled out in front blocking the road.

Two men got out of the vehicle and approached his car.

The victim attempted to drive away at which point the driver of the van rammed his vehicle and the two others attempted to smash his car windows.

The victim managed to drive away.

Detective Constable Craig Rika, of Leeds CID, said: “Thankfully the victim wasn’t physically harmed during this incident but it was understandably a frightening experience for him.

“A number of enquiries are ongoing and as part of this we are seeking the public’s help in providing any information which could help identify the people involved or the vehicle they were using.

“The van involved will have had damage to the front as a result of the collision and we are keen to hear from anyone who believes they have seen it in the vicinity of this offence.”

Anyone with information should call Leeds CID via 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
