A pregnant thief tricked her way into an elderly woman’s home to steal valuables.

The woman called at the 78-year-old victim’s address in Houghley Lane, Bramley, and distracted her before stealing cash and jewellery.

Police have released CCTV images of the woman, following the incident at about 10am on July 20 and about midday on June 30.

She was aged 35 to 45, about 5ft 8ins tall, with shoulder-length dark hair. It is believed she may be from to the Bramley area.

Det Con Kate Hutton, of Leeds CID, said: “These were particularly cruel offences involving a vulnerable elderly victim. The suspect is quite distinctive on the CCTV images and appears to be wearing a patterned top.

“We would like to hear from anyone who recognises her or who has any information that could assist the investigation.”
