Police update after serious sex attack under bridge in Leeds

Police have issued and update after an attempted serious sexual assault under a bridge.

Police were called out at about 3.55am on Bank Holiday Monday, May 25, after the incident under a bridge on Old Run Road, near the Engine pub.

The force described the area as Belle Isle.

A man approached a woman and assaulted her before making off from the scene, police said.

The incident happened between 12.45am and 1.13am.

A 25-year-old man was arrested.

Today (Thursday) police issued an update on the investigation.

A West Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: "He has been bailed and enquiries are ongoing."
