Police have placed cameras along the M1 motorway in a bid to catch 'rubber necker' drivers who film crash footage on their phones.

These cameras were placed along the M1 motorway by Derbyshire Roads Police, who have issued a warning to so-called 'rubber neckers' who slow down to look at crashes on the motorway.

The force has placed these cameras along the M1 and filmed drivers who slow down to capture crash footage.

The footage will be reviewed and offenders will be prosecuted, the force said.

A spokesman for the force said: "FAO All Rubber Neckers who drove without due care and attention earlier on the M1 so they could film the collision scenes on their phones.

"We've put our cameras to good use and filmed you back. To be reviewed and offenders prosecuted."
