Police identify suspects after two men shot and wounded in Bradford

DETECTIVES investigating a shooting incident in Bradford which left two men injured say they have identified two men they want to trace.

Enquiries are ongoing to locate the men, who are believed to local to the Heaton Road area where the shooting happened at around 10.30pm on Tuesday. (August 16)

The two men aged 21 and 24 who suffered gunshot wounds were injured remain in hospital today.

Both are said to be in a stable condition.

The inquiry is now being led by the West Yorkshire Police' Homicide and Major Enquiry Team.

Detective Chief Inspector Jim Griffiths, said: “We have spoken to and are continuing to speak to local people so we can fully understand the circumstances of this serious incident.

“At this time we continue to believe this was a targeted attack and there is not thought to be a risk to the wider community.

“Through our enquiries to date we have identified two males of interest to this investigation. We are now making extensive efforts to trace them. Due to the nature of these ongoing enquiries we will not be disclosing their identities.

“Forensic tests are continuing on a vehicle which was found burnt out a short distance away from where the discharge took place.

“I want the public to be reassured that we treat all firearms incidents with the utmost seriousness and have a team of specialist detectives dedicated to this inquiry.”
