Police find stashes of booze and perfume worth thousands of pounds after Leeds shop thefts

Stolen alcohol and bottles of perfume swiped by shop thieves have been recovered by police.

West Yorkshire Police's Leeds East team said yesterday (Monday) they raided a number of properties and are investigating six people on suspicion of being involved following a series of a thefts.

The officers found large amounts of spirits and perfumes, as well as other items, worth thousands of pounds in total.

The Leeds East team cover Whinmoor, parts of Crossgates, Halton, Garforth, Swillington, Allerton Bywater, Kippax, Methley and Micklefield.

They posted to Facebook: "As part of ongoing investigations into a number of high value shop thefts in the area.

"We have attended at a number of addresses and recovered several thousand pounds worth of property.

"Six people are being processed for the matters.
