Officers went to the Seacroft area of Leeds on Wednesday, May 13 to find a wanted man.

The man had tried to evade offices but was found in a nearby house.

He was found hiding in a wardrobe.

Officers from the Leeds East team arrested the man on suspicion of handing stolen goods.

He was taken into custody.

A spokesman for the Leeds East team said: "Yesterday Officers from Team 2 Inner East Neighbourhood Policing Team located and arrested a wanted male in the Seacroft area of Leeds.

"The wanted male tried to evade Officers but was located in a nearby address, hiding in a wardrobe.

"The male was subsequently arrested and charged for handling stolen goods.

"He was detained in custody for court Proceedings. #YouCanRun #But #YouCantHide."

Also on Wednesday, Leeds East officers seized an off road bike from a learner driver in Micklefield.

The team said: "After numerous complaints from residents officers were in the area conducting high visibility patrols.

"The learner rider of the scooter tried to convince officers that it was a figment of their imagination that they were carrying a pillion passenger.

"Our body camera footage would disagree.

"The bike was seized and the rider has been reported for various driving offences including failing to display L plates."
