Police called to reports of firearm in car in Leeds street
Police were called out to a car in a Leeds street this afternoon after a member of the public reported spotting a firearm.
But when armed officers arrived on scene they found an 'air weapon' in a nearby property which police believed to be the gun which had been reported.
The incident happened on Belle Isle Road at 1.40pm.
The air weapon was not seized and no arrests were made.
A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police said: "We received a call at 1.40pm today reporting a suspected sighting of a firearm in a car in Belle Isle road Leeds.
