Police have released an e-fit image of a sex attacker who assaulted a woman after asking her for the time in Leeds.

The 27-year-old victim was approached by a man in Gower Street, off Regent Street near the city centre, some time between 5.50pm and 6.10pm on Sunday, June 8.

He asked her for the time and then asked her for directions before sexually assaulting her and walking off up Gower Street.

PC Pam Whiteside, of Leeds District Neighbourhood Investigations Unit, said: “This was a distressing incident for the victim and I would urge anyone who recognises this man to contact police immediately.”

He was described as white, aged in his early twenties, about 5ft 4ins tall, and of stout build. He had a reddish face and short, dark blond curly hair. He was wearing a grey-blue hooded top with a zip. His speech was slurred and he appeared to be under the influence of drink or drugs.

Anyone with any information should call PC Whiteside at Elland Road via 101 or call Crimestoppers, anonymoulsy, on 0800 555 111.
