Parents slammed by police as car stopped with unrestrained children in West Yorkshire

A driver was reported after a car was stopped in West Yorkshire when a quick thinking police officer spotted unrestrained children in the rear seats.

PC Martin Willis of West Yorkshire Police tweeted about the incident which took place on Manchester Road, Bradford.

Two young children were unrestrained and jumping about in the back seat of the car, the officer said.

The car - a black Mercedes with a Moldovan number plate - was pulled over shortly before 9am this morning.

PC Willis said in a tweet: "Your children should be the most cherished people in your life.

"They depend on their parents or carers to keep them safe."

The driver was reported for the offence, it was confirmed.
