Police are continuing to hunt the man who has exposed himself to women and children in a string of incidents in the Wortley area in the last two months.

Katherine Turner, 40, has now spoken out to warn others.

Her seven-year-old daughter was playing in the garden of their home – overlooking Western Flatts Park – when the man approached the wall dividing and exposed himself.

Mrs Turner said: “He was almost within touching distance when a neighbour came out of the house and scared him off.

“I feel like it’s not safe for her to be in my own garden.

“The whole neighbourhood feel like they can’t let the kids play out.”

Mrs Turner said people were joining together to go looking for the man at spots he has been seen.

She said she had set up a community group online to raise awareness and added: “We have spent a substantial amount of money improving security.”

The incident happened on April 29.

Since then there have been six further incidents.

Inspector Dan Wood, who heads the local neighbourhood policing team, said the investigation remained on going.

He added: “We fully appreciate that incidents of this nature, particularly where they have been witnessed by children, will cause understandable concern in the community and we would like to reassure people that we are continuing to do everything we can to find him.

“Officers will be maintaining increased patrols in the areas affected to deter any further offences and reassure people.”
