Pair tricked passenger, 77, out of wallet on train from Leeds to London
These two men are suspected of working together to steal an elderly rail passenger’s wallet.
British Transport Police have issued the CCTV images following an incident on a train from Leeds to London Kings Cross.
Detective Inspector Mick Jackson said: “The victim boarded the train and was putting his luggage in the storage rack. As he was doing so one of the men distracted him by placing a coat over the victim’s arm then ‘dipping’ the wallet out of his pocket.
“Both men left the station and were seen looking through the wallet.
“After reviewing CCTV the two men were seen hanging around the station for over an hour. We believe they were looking for a victim to target – in this case a 77-year-old man.”
The incident happened on the 3.15pm service from Leeds last Friday, January 24.
