Police have arrested a 17-year-old who was caught with a hammer outside a West Yorkshire school.

An investigation has been launched into the public order incident outside a school on Stoney Lane, Lightcliffe yesterday afternoon at around 1pm.

Officers were called to a report of a 17-year-old who had a hammer in his possession.

He was arrested from the scene on suspicion of an offensive weapon in a public place and affray.

He has been bailed while enquiries continue.

No one was injured in the incident.

Enquiries remain ongoing by Calderdale District Police and officers are liaising with partners and the school around any concerns.
