New driver clocked at more than 100mph on M62 near Leeds 'claimed he needed toilet'

A new driver was clocked at more than 100mph and stopped by police - before claiming he just 'needed the toilet'.

The driver was pulled over by West Yorkshire Roads Policing Unit officers on the M62 late last night.

He was still within his first two years of driving according to the force.

The driver blamed his speed on needing the toilet.

However, the officer said he had only just passed the services near J25.

The driver has now been reported to court.

According to police, he could now be disqualified.

Another driver was also followed on the M62 at shocking speeds of more than 115mph.

The driver was pursued by a marked police car.

He is also likely to be disqualified, police said.
