Murder probe launched in Wakefield after man found with stab wounds

DETECTIVES have launched a murder investigation after a man’s body was discovered in flats in Wakefield.

Police say they were called to the flats on Marsland Avenue in Eastmoor, just after 7am today (May 18) where they found the man with stab wounds.

He was taken to Pinderfields Hospital but died a short time later.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman told the YEP: “The flats and surrounding area have been cordoned off by police officers to ensure the preservation of evidence at the scene.

“The identity of the deceased man is unknown at present, although he is believed to be in his 20’s.”

A 33 year old man and a 23 year old woman have both been arrested on suspicion of murder. They remain in police custody.
