A teenager was repeatedly stabbed at a party in Leeds.

The 16-year-old, from the Lincoln Green area, suffered five wounds to his back – possibly from a screwdriver – at the Premier Banqueting venue on Stoney Rock Lane in Burmantofts on Friday night.

It is thought he sought refuge in the nearby Sportsman Inn pub before emergency services arrived.

He was taken to hospital for treatment following the incident, which happened at about 11.40pm, but is now recovering at home.

His mother, who cannot be named for legal reasons, told the Yorkshire Evening Post: “I had a knock on the door from a neighbour who had been made aware of it.

“I’m really shaken up by it. You see things like this on the news, but you don’t think it will happen to you.”

Police are investigating the incident, which was not connected to the fatal attack on a 24-year-old man in nearby Lincoln Green Road. Anyone with information should call CID on 101.
