Man on stolen motorbike escapes police by swimming through beck in Leeds

The man abandoned the bike when he realised he was being followed by the Leeds Off Road Bike Team in Seacroft.
He then jumped into a nearby beck and swam away.
But West Yorkshire Police's Leeds East team think they will have the last laugh, as the man left DNA at the scene.

Hide AdOfficers posted on Facebook: "The rider of this stolen bike abandoned it once he realised the Leeds Off Road Bike Team were behind him in the Seacroft area of Leeds.
"He managed to get away by swimming through a beck, however we want to thank him for leaving his DNA at the scene.
"We will be in touch soon to introduce you to our handcuffs!!"
