A man has been seriously injured after being hit by a car near the Cardigan Fields Retail Park in Kirkstall.

Police are appealing for information on the crash, which happened at about 8.30pm yesterday (Tuesday) on the junction of Evanston Avenue and Kirkstall Road.

A pedestrian, in his 20s, was hit by a black VW Golf and suffered serious injuries.

The car stopped at the scene.

Officers in the Roads Policing Unit would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or anyone who may have dash cam footage of the car driving in the area before the crash.
