Man rings 999 to complain to West Yorkshire Police about the drugs he was sold

A man used the 999 emergency line to contact police and complain about drugs he was sold.

West Yorkshire Police's contact management centre, which deals with 999 calls, tweeted about the incident which happened on Saturday (July 18).

Their tweet said: "999 call from someone who has purchased some drugs and not happy with what he's been sold....."

They also suggested getting "a spare pair of our lovely bracelets" ready for both those involved in the transaction.

It was another example of people misusing the 999 emergency line when contacting police. The force also revealed they had been contacted on the same day by someone who wanted to report they could not find their passpor, while another caller rang numerous times to be abusive. The latter caller was taken into custody.
