Man chased away after trying to rob bank in Leeds

A man who tried to rob a bank was chased away after he passed a note to staff demanding cash.

Police have released a CCTV image of a man they want to identify over the attempted robbery at Yorkshire Bank in Austhorpe Road, Crossgates.

It happened at about 2.50pm on Saturday November 23.

The panic alarm was activated and a man left the building empty handed shortly after.

A member of the public chased a man but lost sight of him in Back Aushtorpe Road.

The man was described as white, about 5ft 10ins tall, aged in his mid-twenties to early thirties, and of stocky build.

He was wearing a blue padded jacket, a black scarf and black gloves.
