Man arrested on suspicion of rape after police called to Carr Manor estate in Leeds

A 20-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of rape after police were called to the Carr Manor estate in Leeds.

Police initially received a report of a robbery at 7.22am on Saturday, August 8.

The incident was alleged to have occurred overnight on Parkland Drive, near the Carr Manor Fields.

Two police cordons were put in place on Parklands Drive and Stonegate Road.

Following further enquiries a crime of rape was recorded and a 20-year-old man was arrested.

He has since been released under investigation.

A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police said: “Police received a report of a robbery at 7.22am on Saturday.

“The offence was alleged to have occurred in Parkland Drive overnight.

“Following enquiries a crime of rape was recorded and a 20-year-old man was arrested.

“He has since been released under investigation while enquiries continue.”
