Man arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving in Leeds after 43-year-old pedestrian hit by car

A man was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving after a 43-year-old pedestrian was hit by a car in Leeds.

At 8pm on Saturday (February 2) police were called to a road traffic collision in Dewsbury Road, near to junction with Cross Flatts Avenue.

A 43-year-old male pedestrian was involved in collision with a grey Nissan Micra, police said.

He was taken to hospital with injuries that were serious but not considered life threatening.

He is continuing to receive treatment in hospital.

The driver of the Nissan, a 42-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and was subsequently released under investigation pending further enquiries.

A scene was put in place and the road reopened shortly before midnight.
