Police have made an arrest after an appeal to find a man who sexually assaulted an eight-year-old girl in a Greggs bakery in Leeds went viral online.
The girl was sitting with her brother when a man molested her in The Headrow branch of the chain as their mother paid for goods on February 12.
Thousands of people shared CCTV images issued by West Yorkshire Police on Friday of a man wanted for questioning.
Chief Inspector Mark Griffin, from the Leeds district policing team said, “A 34-year-old man from the Bradford area has been arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who shared our appeal for information, and for the public’s support in this matter.”
