Man arrested for dealing class A drugs at children's playground in east Leeds

A man has been arrested in east Leeds after being caught in possession of class A drugs and cash.

Residents in Swarcliffe reported a man on a black moped dealing drugs at a children's playground on Farndale Approach.

Police traced the vehicle to a nearby home and caught a man coming out of the property with class A drugs and cash.

He was arrested on suspicion of possession of class A drugs with intent to supply.

Officers arrested another man in the property on suspicion of possession with intent to supply.

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police Leeds East said: "Officers from the Leeds District Crime Team worked together with the Leeds District Off-Road Motorcycle Team over the past two days to target drug dealers in the Swarcliffe area.

"This proactive work was supported by intelligence obtained from members of the local community who expressed their concerns over the current local issues."

Officers seized another motorcross bike from inside the property on suspicion of being stolen.

The spokesperson added: "Enquiries are ongoing into this."
