Man, 44, charged with attempted murder after Dewsbury town centre incident

A man has been charged with attempted murder after an incident in Dewsbury town centre.

West Yorkshire Police has revealed that Wayne Walshaw, 44, of Mountain Crescent, Thornhill, has been charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon in a public place after an incident in which a man suffered serious injuries yesterday.

He is due to appear at Leeds Magistrates Court today.

The 46-year-old victim has now been released from hospital.
