A Leeds university has paid tribute to an 18-year-old student who was stabbed to death on New Year's Day.

Isaiah Edward Usen-Satchell, who studied business at Leeds Trinity University, was found seriously injured on St Aidan's Road in Norfolk Park in Sheffield in the early hours of January 1.

The teenager was taken to hospital with stab wounds, but was sadly pronounced dead shortly after.

Professor Margaret A House, the vice-chancellor at Leeds Trinity has now paid tribute to Isaiah.

Professor House said: "We are incredibly shocked and saddened at the sad loss of one of our students, Isaiah, who died yesterday. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and many friends at this extremely difficult time.

"Isaiah joined the University in September to study Business and had such a presence on campus and in class.

"He was a real character with a big personality and will be deeply missed.

"A Book of Condolence for Isaiah will be available in the University Chapel, for students and staff to write messages for Isaiah’s family."

Three men, two aged 18 and one aged 20, were arrested on suspicion of murder.
