Ciara Norma-Mae Delaney took to Facebook to express her devastation at what had happened after she found a dent in the bonnet of her pink Mini Cooper on Back Langdale Terrace in Headingley.

The 21-year-old said that her neighbour told her he had seen "a random group of girls all over the bonnet" of the car taking photos, and she pleaded for anyone who knew anything else about what had happened to come forward as she promised she wouldn't be angry.

Ciara said she could "completely understand" people wanting to take photos and that mistakes happen, but expressed how unfair it was for her to have to "clean up and pay for the mess" and she wanted to give people the chance to own up before taking it "further and making it a more serious matter".

The Leeds Arts University student and owner of Norma Mae Mae photography posted pictures of the dented car on social media, and said: "This morning my neighbour told me that he saw a random group of girls last Saturday night sat all over the bonnet of my car on Back Langdale terrace Headingley, taking photos.

"This has caused a massive dent in the bonnet (couldn’t get a good image because of the reflection sorry!!)

"But yeah, sadly no one has come forward or even left a note to even apologise if this was you, or if anyone knows anything further about what happened can you please come forward and message me privately, I’m not gonna be angry I promise you, I just want to know who did it so we can sort it out, I completely understand you wanting to take photos and you made a mistake, these things happen!

"But it’s not fair on me to clean up & pay for the mess:( I want to give whoever it is the chance to own up and do the right thing before I take it further and make it a more serious matter.

"Thank you in advance!! xx"

Fellow Leeds students commented on Ciara's social media post to console her about what had happened.

One person said: "Can’t believe this!! Hope you’re okay xx"

And another commented: "Aw Ciara I hope you get it sorted."

Other students offered Ciara advice on how she could try to remove the dent in her car bonnet herself.

One said: "As a v temporary fix you could try opening the bonnet and pushing from the other side - it may pop back into place?

And another added: "Pour boiling water over the affected areas and hit around the dents - should pop out!"
