Leeds police officers accused of kicking man they arrested
Two Leeds police officers will appear before a misconduct hearing next week accused of kicking and swearing at a man they arrested.
It is alleged that Pc Johansen and Pc Core assaulted the man, leaving him with injuries including swelling to his left cheekbone.
According to the West Yorkshire Police website: “It is further alleged the officers swore at the male.”
They will appear before a misconduct hearing between April 4 and 7 accused of “breaching the Standards of Professional Behaviour in relation to Use of Force and Discreditable Conduct”.
Police forces nationwide have been told to hold misconduct hearings in public since last year as part of efforts to make the service more transparent and accountable.
