Leeds: Mystery man found collapsed dies in hospital

A MAN found collapsed on estate grassland in Leeds, with serious internal head injuries has died in hospital.

He has been named as Polish national Dariusz Edmond Kozera, 51, whose discovery by a passing motorist near the junction of Oakwood Lane, Amberton Approach and Oak Tree Drive,Gipton, at 6.47pm on Monday, sparked a police appeal and house-to-house inquiry in the area.

He was rushed to St James’s Hospital Intensive Care Unit, but police later said they were not treating his death as suspicious. Initially Mr Kozera’s identity was not known as he had no documents on him when found.

But soon after the mystery was solved when his niece, with whom he lived locally, reported him missing and his identity was confirmed.

Mr Kozera, who had lived in Britain for about two years, is thoguht to have collapsed walking to a local supermarket.
