Leeds man dies in hospital after being seriously injured in motorbike crash

A man from Leeds who died in a motorbike crash has been named as 52-year-old Damian McNamara.

Damian suffered serious injuries in the crash on the B6480 in Wennington, Lancashire, on February 28.

He was riding a Triumph motorbike when it crashed with a Peugeot Partner Tepee car travelling in the opposite direction at 6.45am.

Lancashire Police say Damian, described by his family “a loving son and brother”, suffered serious injuries and sadly died in hospital two weeks later on March 12.

The driver of the Peugeot, a 77-year-old man from Bentham, was not injured.

Lancashire Police are now appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash to come forward.

Sergeant Helen Parkinson of Lancashire Police said: “First and foremost our thoughts are with Mr McNamara’s family and friends at this sad time.

“Our investigation into the collision is very much continuing and we are asking anyone who saw the incident or has any dashcam footage of it, or of either vehicle in the moments before the collision, to contact us straight away.”

Anybody with information is asked to call Lancashire Police via 101 quoting log number 168 of February 28.
