Leeds driver arrested on suspicion of drug driving and knife possession after police search in Armley

A driver has been arrested on suspicion of drug driving and being in possession of a knife after a police search in Leeds.

Officers from the Operation Jemlock team stopped a vehicle in Armley on Saturday, August 1.

They discovered drugs in the vehicle a knife, pictured, hidden in a dashboard compartment.

The driver also tested positive for cannabis.

The stop was made as part of Operation Jemlock, a West Yorkshire Police crackdown on serious violent crime and drugs crime.

More than 3,000 arrests have been made since the operation launched in April 2019.

The Operation Jemlock team tweeted: "Officers at Leeds stop a vehicle in the Armley area. A stop and search follows with drugs and the pictured knife found in a dashboard compartment.

"The driver also tests positive for cannabis so arrested for multiple offences."
