Leeds dad Sajid Pervez to be sentenced for murdering his wife Abida Karim at their family home in Harehills

A husband is to be sentenced at Leeds Crown Court today for murdering his wife at their home.

Sajid Parvez, 37, is facing a life sentence after admitting killing Abida Karim, 39, at the couple's family home on Hovingham Terrace, Harehills.

Mrs Karim was pronounced dead by ambulance staff shortly after emergency services were called to the property on Thursday September 24.

Pervez pleaded guilty to murder at plea hearing on January 12.

The sentencing hearing is due to begin at 10am today (February 19) before Judge Simon Phillips QC.
