Police lost sight of the vehicle at the junction of Park Square and Hanover Square, close to Leeds city centre.

The woman who lived there claimed the Audi was hers and that it had been stolen from her garage.

Katie Varlow, prosecuting, said Wall was arrested the following day when police stopped the Audi Wall had used to commit the dangerous driving offence in.

He was a passenger in the vehicle which was being driven by the woman who had told police it had been stolen.

Her two children were also in the vehicle.

Wall was in possession of a small amount of cannabis at the time of his arrest.

Wall, of St Anne's Way, Burley, pleaded guilty to dangerous driving, two offences of driving while disqualified and possession of cannabis.

He has previous convictions for burglary, aggravated vehicle taking, dangerous driving and possessing drugs.

The offences were committed when he was out of prison on licence and was the subject of a driving ban.

Shila Whitehead, mitigating, said Wall pleaded guilty to the offences at an early stage and accepted that he had acted foolishly.

She added: "He holds his hands up wholeheartedly."

Sentencing Wall, Judge Robin Mairs said: "This was an appalling spate of dangerous driving.

"You had no regard for anyone.
