A post mortem examination has been carried out as part of the ongoing investigation into an explained death at a Leeds cemetery.
Officers were called to Beckett Street Cemetery in Burmantofts on Sunday (July 17) when a member of the public found what they believed to be a man’s body.
Paramedics, who also attended shortly before noon, confirmed that the man had died.
A police spokeswoman said they were not in a position to name the local man in his 20s and the cause of death could not be confirmed at this stage.
Detectives are treating the death as unexplained and are awaiting test results.
The gates to the cemetery were locked yesterday while officers kept watch over the scene, but it has since reopened.
