'It is an awful junction': Ambulance service provide update on man's injuries after van and motorbike crash in Leeds

The ambulance service have provided an update on the injuries sustained by a man after a serious van and motorbike crash in Leeds.

The man sustained multiple injuries including to his chest and face, the ambulance service confirmed.

The crash occurred at around 11.15am on the junction of Malvern Road and Beeston Road, near the Beeston Hill Church.

The motorcyclist was taken to Leeds General Infirmary, the Yorkshire Ambulance Service has confirmed.

The junction of Malvern Road and Beeston Road remains closed and a large police scene is in place.

A truck arrived shortly before 2pm to remove the motorbike from the scene.

Around six officers remained at the cordon.

One woman said: "It is an awful junction."

Items including the motorcyclist's helmet could be seen at the crash scene.
