Investigation launched after body found in Wakefield

West Yorkshire Police were called at 9.31am today (Wednesday, April 1) to reports that a man's body had been found in Stanley Ferry.

Investigations are ongoing.

Enquires are ongoing to identify the man, and a full post mortem will be conducted to determine a cause of death.

There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances at this time.

A spokesperson for the force said: "Investigations are ongoing following the discovery of a body in Stanley Ferry, Wakefield.

"The body of an adult male was located at about 9.31am this morning.

"Enquiries remain ongoing to identify the man, who is believed to be middle aged, and a full post mortem will be conducted to determine a cause of death.

"At this stage there are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances."
