POlice are appealing for information after thieves stole hundreds of thousands of pounds of goods in two raids on a Leeds haulage firm.

Farsley Transport, on Gelderd Road, was targeted on December 13 and again on December 21.

The thieves stole items including Adidas, Reebok and Next clothing, trainers, batteries, razors, Northface rucksacks, menthol cigarettes and Bose audio equipment.

PC Rachel Jackson, of Leeds CID, said: “Hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of goods have been stolen in these two incidents, significantly impacting this local firm.

“We have been working closely with Farsley Transport Ltd, who have taken measures to greatly improve their security.”

A 25-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the inquiry, but police want to speak to anyone with information.

PC Jackson added: “We are keen to speak to anyone who has any information about either of these incidents or who has been offered goods as described for sale in suspicious circumstances.”
