A large police cordon is in place covering Halton Moor Avenue, Appleby Place and Cartmell Drive.
Crime scene investigators have arrived at Appleby Place, where the incident is believed to have taken place.
Officers are carrying out searches in the area and the roads are closed to all traffic and pedestrians.
