A woman was dragged to the ground by a mugger as she walked with her granddaughter in Leeds.

Police have released CCTV images of a man in a distinctive hat who they want to trace following the incident in Middleton.

The victim, a 55-year-old woman, was walking in Middleton Park Road with her six-year-old granddaughter when she was dragged over and had her handbag stolen.

The man was white, about 6ft 1in tall and was wearing a grey tracksuit and a bobble hat with ear-flaps and tassles on either side.

The incident happened at about 3.30pm on Tuesday, March 25.
