Further arrest after man attacked in Kirkgate

Police have made a further arrest after a man was attacked and seriously injured in Kirkgate.

Detectives are continuing to appeal for information in relation to the incident in Otley at the weekend.

The victim, an 18-year-old man, remains in a serious condition in hospital following a disturbance in Kirkgate at about 9.30pm on Saturday (July 11), police said.

Another 40-year-old man was arrested last night on suspicion of assault.

He and a 40-year-old man, who was arrested earlier on Sunday on suspicion of assault, both remain in custody.

An 18-year-old man, who was arrested on suspicion of affray in relation to the incident, has been bailed pending further enquiries.

Detectives are still keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any information that could assist the investigation.
