Police were called to reports of young men causing damage to bus shelters in Garforth on Sunday, March 1.

Officers went to the scene on Aberford Road but the boys ran away when they saw them.

The officers said: "Last night officers attended reports of 4 young lads causing damage to bus shelters on Aberford Road Garforth.

"On arrival the 4 lads were off like a rocket upon seeing us, leaving behind 2 almost full crates of beer."

They jokingly added: "Lads, if you would like to attend the station and lay claim to the beer we’d love to discuss where and who purchased the alcohol for you."

The Leeds East team covers Burmantofts, Cross Gates, Garforth, Gipton, Harehills, Killingbeck, Kippax, Methley, Richmond Hill, Seacroft, Swillington, Temple Newsam and Whinmoor.
