A FORMER rugby league  Super League player turned police officer tackled a fleeing suspected car thief in Leeds.

West Yorkshire Police Roads Policing Unit said the white Seat Ibiza stolen a burglary was boxed in in Leeds city centre and two people were arrested on Saturday night.

The roads policing unit tweeted: "Driver ran but tackled by our team's ex Super League player."

This horse, Juliette, was seized from its owner in Shipley, Bradford, and is now being cared for in the south of England
