The officer circulated details of the car among colleagues and identified it as a wanted vehicle.

Miss Pearson said the Audi was spotted being driven in the Bramley area the next day by officers in the West Yorkshire Police helicopter.

Stewart was pictured getting out of the car holding a plastic bag before going into a house.

Officers on the ground were informed and went to the property.

Two women answered the door and were reluctant to help the officers who went inside and found Stewart hiding in the loft.

The plastic bag he had been carrying was found to contain cocaine, MDMA and cannabis.

More of the class A and B drugs were found in the Audi.

The prosecutor said the total street value of the drugs was £3,680.

Stewart, 30, struggled with the officers as he was handcuffed.

Stewart, of South Farm Road, Gipton, pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine, MDMA and cannabis with intent to supply, resisting a police constable and driving while disqualified.

Stewart has previous for drug dealing. He was locked up for three and a half years in 2017 for a drug trafficking offence.

Charles Blatchford, mitigating, said the father-of-two pleaded guilty to the offences at an early stage.

Mr Blatchford said Stewart had written a letter to the court which demonstrated a genuine remorse for his offending and an insight into the harm drugs have on society.

The barrister said Stewart had been trying to turn his life around and provide for his family but was forced into settling an old drug debt by dealing on behalf of other criminals.
