Driver arrested after crashing when failing to stop for West Yorkshire Police and then trying to escape by running away

The police deployed a pre-emptive stinger to stop the car.

The vehicle had three deflating tyres and failed to stop for officers from the West Yorkshire Police Shipley team.

The driver then crashed and tried to escape by running away before being detained and arrested by the police.

The West Yorkshire Police Roads Policing Unit tweeted: "Shipley: Vehicle identified as cloned sighted by @wyp_shipley.

"Pre-emptive Stinger deployed.

"Despite 3 deflating tyres, vehicle fails to stop but crashes nearby.

"Driver detained after a short foot chase and arrested."
