Deer shot and killed in Leeds one of more than 20 animal related crimes in 24 hours

A deer has been shot and killed in Leeds, police said.

The animal was killed in the North Leeds area at the weekend according to West Yorkshire Police - Wildlife & Rural Crime.

The incident was one of more than 20 involving animals in less than 24 hours.

West Yorkshire Police - Wildlife & Rural Crime posted: "In the last 24 hours there have been 20 incidents involving animals across the force area.

"A deer was shot in the Leeds 17 area.

"Crime recorded for killing a deer out of season crime number 13200348441.

"There were no other reports."
