Cyclist suffers serious head injuries after being hit by motorist in Leeds

A motorist drove off after hitting a cyclist, who is now in hospital with serious head injuries.

A 32-year-old man was knocked down by the driver of a black Seat-type car at 9pm on Wednesday, March 25, in Spencer Place, near Roundhay Road.

Despite momentarily stopping, the motorist left the scene without helping the injured man.

The cyclist had been heading along Spencer Place, Chapeltown, towards Roundhay Road, when it happened.

He is being treated at Leeds General Infirmary.

Police think the car will have sustained damage to the area around its fog lights as a result of the incident.

Officers urgently want to speak to anyone who saw it happen, or who may know the driver of the car, or anyone with any CCTV or dashcam footage.
