Cyclist seriously injured in Belle Isle hit and run

A cyclist was seriously injured after being hit by a van driver who failed to stop at the scene.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident, which took place in East Grange Drive, Belle Isle, on Tuesday, April 14.

The cyclist was hit by the van driver just before 5.30pm.

The driver of the van then drove off.

The cyclist, a man in his twenties, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Officers want to hear from anyone who was driving in the area at the time and may have captured the incident on Dashcam footage.

Any other witnesses are asked to call the non-emergency number 101 or use the online live-chat facility available via the Force website.
