Ryan Woods, of Bramley, watched the teenager as she waited at a bus stop before following her on to the top deck of a bus, Leeds Crown Court was told.

Kate Bisset, prosecuting, said the girl told police Woods had been acting "weirdly" as she waited at the stop just before 2pm on October 16 2020.

Woods, 19, sat on a seat immediately across from the girl, who put her headphones on and played music as she tried to ignore Woods, who repeatedly tried to attract her attention.

The court heard Woods then exposed himself through a hole in his tracksuit bottoms before starting to perform a solo sex act.

Miss Bisset said the girl had not got to her stop but got off the bus immediately.

Woods, of Broadlea Gardens, Bramley, admitted a charge of exposure.

He committed the offence while subject to an eight month suspended prison sentence imposed after he was convicted of an assault in June 2020.

The court heard he was convicted of rape in 2009 when he was a boy.

He also has two convictions for exposure dating back to 2014.

Woods has been in custody since his arrest on October 28 and has already served the equivalent of a seven month prison sentence.

Judge Robin Mairs told Woods: "You are 19, you have a very worrying history. You were, at a very young age. convicted of rape."

Judge Mairs said Woods had taken cocaine before the exposure offence, adding: "This would have been a shocking and frightening experience for this young woman."

Judge Mairs handed Woods a six month prison sentence, suspended for two years.

Woods must complete a sex offender treatment programme and 54 rehabilitation activity days.
