EXCITEMENT is building as The Alchemist on Greek Street is starting to take shape.

The new bar follows in the footsteps of The Liquorist and Seven Greek Street Social, which took over the old Living Room building earlier this year.

It’s also following hot on the heels of Gusto – an Italian restaurant that opened on the street back in July.

But there might be some new competition, as a new bar and restaurant space is being developed on the street.

Evans Property Group plans to transform the old Gourmet Burger Kitchen unit, which is currently vacant, into a new business opportunity, complete with a new street terrace underneath the neighbouring Minerva office building.

The company also plans to transform the adjacent former RBS unit to a bar or restaurant opportunity with an external terrace.

It builds on the company’s £20million transformation of the Bond Court area of the city centre, which includes refurbishments, new walkways and a public space.

Alan Syers, portfolio director, said: ”The GBK and RBS units are a key part of the bigger picture.”
